Irish Fest kicks off with the annual Hooley Happy Hour on Friday night. The Hooley is a party within the party where over 150 singles will mingle in the Irish American Heritage Center's Fifth Province pub.

What's a hooley? A hooley is an old-fashioned Irish term for a dance and party. Every summer in Ireland for the past 150 years swarms of singles travel to try and meet that someone special to the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival to participate in the traditional matchmaking routines.

Irish Fest has combined these two purely Irish traditions and added a bit of a twist creating a dancing, singing and matchmaking festival like no other. True Irish matchmakers will be on hand to help you make that perfect match. Participants will be treated to live music, drink specials, sponsor sampling and special raffles and door prizes.

The Hooley Happy Hour is a perfect opportunity to reach Chicagoland's hip young singles as they mingle.
